Conquering Pain Act

If enacted the Conquering Pain Act would have formally noted the undertreatment of pain and established pain as a fifth vital sign. Major provisions include creating a Web site for medical professionals containing evidence-based practice guidelines developed for the treatment of pain, and increasing community pain-support networks. The bill also calls for a surgeon general’s report on the state of pain and symptom management in the United States.
