American Chronic Pain Association [HTML]
This association is dedicated to the development of education, awareness and peer support for those dealing with chronic pain. The ACPA has 400 chapters around the world and offers numerous resources, such as a quarterly newsletter, a family manual, workbooks, and a penpal network to help patients and their family members deal with the effects of chronic pain.

Offers links to sites dealing with everything from opioid pain management to chronic pain scales to professional organizations and advocacy groups.

Chronic Pain Support Center [HTML]
This site offers one of the most comprehensive collection of resources available to those dealing with chronic pain, including chat rooms, information about doctors and an exhaustive set of links.

City of Hope Pain/ Palliative Care Resource Center [HTML]
The purpose of the COHPPRC is “to serve as a clearinghouse to disseminate information and resources that will enable other individuals and institutions to improve the quality of pain management.” The site provides publications and materials for professionals and patients alike in areas including pain and the family, pediatrics and pain and the elderly.

Dick Chapman’s Homepage [HTML]
This is the home page of C. Richard Chapman, Ph.D., in the department of anesthesiology at the University of Washington. He has intended his site to be used as a resource for those who wish to study pain and its management. The site offers introductory materials such as definitions and the history of pain management, as well as links to resources for pain patients on the web.

Edmonton Palliative Care Program [HTML]
Since July, 1995, the program has sought to move end-of-life care from acute care settings to the home and hospice organizations. This site offers information about the program itself, educational opportunities, and clinical information.

End of Life Physician Education Resource Center [HTML]
This site strives to be a central location for physicians who work with patients dealing with pain. “The purpose of EPERC is to assist physician educators and others in locating high-quality, peer-reviewed training materials.”

Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Chronic Pain page [HTML]
Offers information and links for patients dealing with these three conditions, as well as an index and recent news articles dealing with policy and advocacy movements and events.

International Association for the Study of Pain [HTML]
Home to the multidisciplinary professional organization dedicated to research, educating the public, and improving the diagnosis and treatment of pain.

International Association of Hospice and Palliative Care [HTML]
The mission of this association is to “increase the availability and access to high quality hospice and palliative care for patients and families throughout the world.” The site offers professional forums, publications, world reports and a manual of palliative care.

Offers access to health information through access to Medline/Pubmed, library services and research programs.

National Council for Hospice and Specialist Palliative Care Services [HTML]
This council is an “umbrella and representative body for hospice and palliative care in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.” The site provides educational and informational material about palliative care and a Hospice Information Service Directory in the UK and Ireland.

Pain Management Online [HTML]
This is a web site for the Advanced Pain Diagnostic and Treatment Consultants (APDTC), an association of independent pain treatment physicians. The site provides access to services for doctors, a directory of doctors and locations and directions to pain clinics, in addition to links and educational materials.

Pain Net [HTML]
Website which serves to educate providers about pain medications and to kill the myth that pain is something that patients simply must learn to live with.

Pain and Palliative Care Reporter [HTML]
This site serves to collect resources for attorneys and other advocates who deal with the legal issues surrounding cases which include terminal illness, withdrawal of treatment at the end of life and patients who have been forced to deal with poor pain management due to the actions of HMO’s or physicians.

Pain and Policies Study Group, University of Wisconsin (PPSG) [HTML]
The pioneering Pain Management research and education institute maintains a list of links to more important pain management resources. Searchable database of over 20,000 references related to Cancer Pain and Palliative Care.

The Society for Pain and Practice Management’s Favorite Links [HTML]

Talaria [HTML]
This site is a resource for health care professionals. Talaria addresses the management of Cancer pain and provides clinical education through the use of the Clinical Practice Guideline on the Management of Cancer Pain, a publication of the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research and the use of interactive tools such as dosage calculators.
