Disability Discrimination

The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, State and local government, public accommodations, commercial facilities, transportation, and telecommunications. State law also includes legislation that prohibits forms of employment discrimination. In general terms the ADA protects those with a disability, that is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; in some cases this may protect persons suffering from chronic pain. Only a relatively small number of cases or commentaries have discussed application of the ADA to pain-related factual circumstances.
